Library Rules and Regulations
Patrons must engage in activities associated with the use of the Public Library while in the building.
All materials removed from the Library must be checked out on a valid library card.
All materials borrowed from the Library must be returned or renewed in a timely manner.
Each patron is responsible for any fines, fees or other charges due in accordance with the Library’s policy. Failure to pay these charges will result in the suspension of borrowing privileges.
Patrons may not misuse or damage Library property.
Patrons will respect the rights of other patrons and Library staff and will not harass or annoy others.
Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a responsible caregiver age 14 or older.
Children under the age of 5 must be within visual and physical contact of a responsible caregiver age 14 or older at all times.
Children under the age of 8 must be seated next to a responsible caregiver age 14 or older while using a Library computer.
Patrons may not consume food or beverages in the Library.
Patrons may use cell phones only on the Entry Level of the Library. Cell phones should be set to vibrate while in the building.
Patrons may not smoke or use tobacco products in the Library.
Patrons may not engage in the use of alcohol, narcotics or illegal activity while in the Library building or on Library property.
Patrons must wear shirt and shoes in the Library.
Patrons may not wear cleats, rollerblades, or any other non-traditional footwear in the Library.
Animals are not allowed in the Library, except for guide dogs for the handicapped.
Since the Library is not designed to serve as a public shelter or lounge, sleeping, lingering aimlessly and misuse of rest rooms such as to bather, shave or wash clothes is not allowed.
